A fracture is any break in the bone. Fractures are treated by aligning the bone to its original position.
The surgeon will take x-rays to locate the fractured bone/bones. After this the method of realignment will be decided the surgeons. Realignment can be done either by surgery or without a surgery.
Once the jaw bones are aligned they are kept in position with the help of plates or wires so that the fracture heals. It will take 4 to 6 weeks approximately for the fracture to heal.
